AVID Liquid 7
Posted by Andy Garcia on April 23, 2006 at 2:44 amCan some one tell the basics of AVID Liquid 7. How is it different from other Avids (Adreniline, etc)which I have used in the past? I’m going for a job and they are asking for people who have used it.

April 23, 2006 at 6:32 pmI don’t know the exact differences but I did research it a little bit when I decided to buy an avid for my home. Basically there will be a learning curve. No JKL playback, and some other features as well. However they have some cool features like exporting your media straight from Liquid to MPEG 2 for DVD burning. Since Avid bought it halfway through production, I read the interface still seems a bit prehistoric, but the program itself is pretty good. Again I don’t know that much about it, I’m just telling you what I’ve read on the same pages you may have looked at already. Hope I helped a bit.

No JKL Playback??? This is not true at all, in fact the keys for JKL are defaulted to the same as in Avid. Avid bought Liquid halfway through production??? What are you trying to say? The Programming as well as product of the Liquid Line which used to include Liquid Silver, Purple, Chrome and Blue have a long, long line of history and stability as well as a feature set that Avid since followed on. Prehistoric is in the eyes of the behoulder……if the average user had found it to be prehistoric, it would not have reached the height that it had as well as challenging Avid in the Newsroom markets and Middle end Systems, nor would have Avid forked out Millions and Millions on products that were “Prehistoric”
Just my 2 Euro Cents
