    Hate it.

6 seats on a Unity system. Reality series with huge shooting ratio about to commence and ‘management’ (who don’t even use the suites) decided we should have it. It takes 30 seconds to check in when closing a bin. Now we have dozens of copies of the same sequence/clips because you can’t just use “open bin” between projects… it crashes MC. Adds so much extra time to the simplest tasks.

It’s total BS and has ruined my workflow.

    That is all.

Just rework the workflow. Have one seat handle one person, place or event, ect. Then one editor can act as online dude by stacking all the pre-made sequences.
    Just a thought.
Don’t get all mad at your workflow though. (or management)
If management knew the best way to create things, they’d be creators, not managers.

Fair call Grinner. I’m starting to come around… just blew my )previously very successful) workflow out of the water. Time for an old dog to learn a new trick. I’ll get there!

Still not digging Interplay. Had an editor overwrite entire sequences that I had worked on this week. Local media is invisible to my suite even though I can see the .mxf files on my drives. No lock out functions like in Unity…. and Avid specifically state “do not share projects” in their “Interplay do’s and dont’s” guide. Totally at odds with how we work and have done for years. Great for finding cips and I like Avid but interplay just blows from an editorial pov.
