  avid import problems (QT codec?)

  Hi there,

  i have a problem importing files into the avid xpress HD , version 5.6.4.
  What the guy that has filmed the stuff says is
  “The Sony XDCAM MXF wrapper was replaced by a QuickTime envelope to facilitate the importing of the files into your favorite editing system.
  The XDCAM 1080p25 files utilize the Apple XDCAM compressor and will not run on generic PCs.
  The DVCPRO HD files at 720p25 will not run on a Mac or PC unless the DVCPRO HD component is loaded into QuickTime.
  This would be the case if you have Apple Final Cut Pro installed on your Mac or Premiere or Avid on the PC.
  The QuickTime Player Pro version on the Mac also installs the required professional codec.”
