Scroll down to the ‘How to DVD’ link.
The basics for interlaced NTSC products are this (keep in mind this is from memory; if something is letter perfect, interpolate!) –
Right click your sequence>send to> encoding>Sorenson (assuming you have Sorenson installed)
A window will pop up – set your destination, and click options. Select Quicktime reference, native dimensions and 601/709
click OK, then again, and Sorenson will open (again, assuming you have Sorenson). Under MPEG2, select and drag the LG_DVD_NTSC setting to your job window. Double click on the setting, make sure your data rate doesn’t exceed 9000kbs(?). I’ve had great results with data rates as low as 3000 and as high as 6000. Select either program (embedded audio) or elementary (seperate audio and video files) Select 6 i frames. Under the filters, double click the first one (it doesn’t matter – your going to change it), uncheck everything except normalize audio. Make sure auto-deinterlacing is OFF (Sorenson does a horrble job of deinterlacint video). Save the preset as ‘auto deinterlacing OFF’, and apply that as well. click squeeze it. I use Reel DVD, but I won’t bore you with those details unless you want me to.
