Avid FX 5.8 (Boris Red) Still Available?
Hello,
I recently purchased a new boxed copy of Avid Media Composer 6, and due to some issues with my Matrox MXO2 Mini box, I`ve used my hardware dongle to instead activate and use Media Composer 5.5.3 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I have a Avid FX (Boris RED) serial key that was included with MC6, but it is not compatible with MC 5.5.3 , with requires Avid FX 5.8 .
I`m wondering if I am able to turn in my serial key to Boris for a Avid FX 5.8 compatible one instead, and gain access to a Avid FX 5.8 full installer for the Mac?
I haven`t seen Avid FX 5.8 available for purchase anywhere online.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hi Alex,
If I understand this correctly, you purchased MC 6 which includes Avid FX 6 (essentially Boris RED 5) as bundled software – this is a 64 bit set up. You are using MC 5.5 though, which is 32 bit and want to use Avid FX 5.8 (or Boris RED 4.) I’m going to pass this onto one of the guys in our sales team to see what they can do for you.
