I am trying to take media from a burned DVD and drop it into a media timeline to be edited. I have footage that was shot and then burned to DVD’s and also have files that were created in AVID and burned to DVD from another machine, and now I want to import those files to clean them up…

    Using Hand Brake:
    – What are the correct settings to get the best quality out of the DVD’s that I have?

I have used numerous settings and can’t find one that gives me good quality along with a working file type.

Some problems I have run into are: 1. Avid does not support the media file that I created… 2. The file created in HandBrake disappears and will not show up in the folder I saved it to or a system search… 3. The files that do work are either grainy or you can see the interlaced lines on movement…

Is there another program I can use that will be more efficient and easier? Are there steps that I am possibly missing or skipping during the conversion process?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Running: Avid Media Composer 3.5 – Intel Core 2 Quad Core CPU Q6700 2.66ghz – 6GB RAM – 750GB HD – nVidia 9500GT – 2 Samsung SM2233 monitors –
