    Hi, all,

I have some Beta SP footage I need to convert to DV25 and move to my FCP system. The only Beta machine I have access to is with an Windows-based Avid Express system elsewhere. How can I do this? Will the Avid let me capture and then export to a LaCie firewire drive through the Mojo? And then will my Mac read from that drive? Or do I have to export to Mini-DV tape instead?

    Thanks!

    -Tom

    On the Windows based machine:

Make sure the Mojo and the FireWire Drive are on different buses. Then capture.
If they are not, capture to a supported drive first (internal for example) then copy files to the FireWire drive.

You then need to make sure you can mount the drive on a Mac OS system. What I have done is used MacMounter on the PC and captured directly to the that drive. The move to a Mac ystem.

Now -getting that footage to the FCP system… I would just capture first to the Avid XPress internal, then export as self contained QuickTimes to the firewire drive.
