    Hi,

I have got my avid editior to tranfer a movie clip to me as a quick time movie. but when i open it in my system the video comes as white. the audio however is fine.

what is the problem. am i missing someting on my system. i dont have any problem in playing other quicktime movies on my sysytem otherwise. its only the one i get exported from the avid as a clip.

Under your comp window, is the alpha channel (whire button) the only thing engaged?

When you play this quicktime just from the QT player is it still white?

Then I would put the problem at the Avid side. I wonder if it still shows white on the PC in the quicktime player on the Avid machine. If it is showing white, then I think it’s an AVID Cow question me thinks.

it is most likely the codec the avid is using. try a different one, depending on what you want, “photo jpeg” is good, so is “animation”.

Yep, it sounds as if your machine doesn’t have the necessary codec.

You might wanna make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime.
