    Hello,
I’m working on MC v3.13 in Unity environment. Mac OSX v 10.5.5. Processor is 2×3 GHZ Quad Core Intel Xeon. 4GB RAM.

I’m running into an error message during render and/or export of a clip. This clip plays fine when there is no title above it. When I turn on the title and render or export, I get the following message:

    An Error has occurred:

    Compress Failed

    File:/Snapshots/releng.relengintel7_1236903488/vobs/coresw/ame/Projects/Mac/../../src/Consumers/DEvices/SWCodecMgrInt.cpp, Line 2439

My options from here are “create report” “exit to finder” “continue” and “Debugger” – If I select “create report”, I get the following message:

System state CANNOT be dumped to file.

If I select “debugger”, the error message window quickly closes and opens back up.

If I select “continue”, the error message window closes, but the clip remains unrendered.

If I select “exit to finder”, I get the dreaded Main Thread Bus error message, and MC crashes completely.

Here’s where it gets weird. If there is no title above the clip to render, the clip doesn’t require rendering. I have tried recreating the title, and the same problem persists, so I believe this is an issue with the clip, or with the way it imports. I have tried re-importing, to no avail. I have also tried exporting the clip, title free, and then re-importing that clip. Same problem continues once the title is placed above.

Other things I’ve aleady tried –
Dumping the MC State, and other settings files.

I think next I’ll run a disk check on the Unity drive that holds this media. Every bit of research on error code 36 points to a drive issue.

BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY THOUGHTS……. 🙂

    Thanks in advance,
    George

Hi there!! did you solve that??? I have the exact same problem….
And I have a matrox box plug in, if I unplug it and just play in the computer it runs… The funny thing is that it was not doing that till 3 days ago…

It was almost a year ago, so to be honest, I’m not sure exactly what I did to remedy that one. I’m not too familiar with the matrox box either.

We did finish our movie, so it did eventually work out…

Did you try cutting your problem sequence into a new sequence?
