Avid Error -5000 when adding the patch for 5.5.3
Hi I added a 5.5.2 Patch for my Avid Composer and I received an error code -5000. I’m not sure why I have this code. I did the uninstall and added the 5.5.2 I previously had 5.5.1. Now I can’t even open Media Composer. Any guidance on what I should do to fix this error?

The -5000 error is an OS-level permissions error. This is actually one of the few cases where repairing disk permissions with Disk Utility may actually solve the problem.
If repairing disk permissions does not solve the issue, try launching the software with a different user account that has administrator privileges. This will allow you to determine if it is a system-wide error or unique to a particular user account.
