Avid DS
Hey guys, and gals, I recently learned the Avid Composer on my own, now the sports company I work for has a position opening up with the AVid DS. I know the non-linear systems are fairly similar, but still DS is much different than the Composer.
I was wondering if there were any books out there that I could possibly look over for the DS? And/or does anyone know how to get my hands on a course book without taking the actual class? Thanks. Let me know.

Try looking at Avid’s website to see if they’ve got any books for sale on DS. Sometimes they sell books, without you having to take the class.
I just recently saw a whole bunch of DS manuals for sale on ebay a few days ago. Check again, under “Avid” or “Avid DS” in the search bar.
Your employer probably has some DS manuals laying around. See if you can get your hands on them for a couple of days, along with some time after hours on the DS to start to get acquainted with it. You’re right: DS is a COMPLETELY different animal than the rest of the Avid products. But it’s also the most intelligently coded and the most powerful, too.

Ok cool, thanks. I checked the avid website and really didn’t find any books on the DS system. But I will check on Ebay. Also, if my job has a manual/courseware book on DS, would I be able to take it to like Kinko’s or somewhere else and copy the book?

If you’re still interested in the DS books I will see what I have pretty sure I do have those books
