  Avid Dongle Expiring

  i am working on my client’s Avid Xpress Pro system (academic) and all of a sudden it gives me this message:

  “The dongle connected to this system has expired. Please connect a valid dongle to this computer to ensure proper operation.” It is four o’clock in the morning and I am cutting under a deadline for him.

  My client purchased this system and I installed the software. Does anybody know why this could be happening?

  I can’t imagine this happening with Final Cut Pro. Not only is FCP more seamless with apple computers, it isn’t prone to freezing up with errors, sudden unexpected quits or dongle expirations. This is one more reason so persuade my 200 some clients to buy into apple versus Avid. Avid, I think your days are numbered…
