    Hi,
I posted this in the G-Tech forum. Thought I would give it a try here as well. Thank you.

I have been using my 2gb G-Raid on my PC and editing with Avid Media Composer 4 for about a year. I have MacDrive 8 installed and the drive as been working great. Today I hooked my G-Raid drive up to my Mac book Pro. Did not use Avid software. Then hooked the G-Raid back up via FW800 to my PC. The drive works and I can see all my files on the drive. However, when I launch Avid, it starts to initialize then right before the project window pops up, Avid closes. When I have the drive off, Avid launches fine. Once I turn the G-Raid on, Avid closes out. Can somebody let me know how this can be fixed.

    Thanks

First off. Try plugging it into a mac and using the disk utility to “repair disk”. If you have disk warrior, even better – use that to do a rebuild.

If this doesn’t work, try making a fresh Avid MediaFiles folder structure and allow avid to rescan it.

Thanks Dan. I will give that a try.

All I would like to do is export a sequence from Avid Xpress dv 3.5.3 I tried QT, Mpeg 2 and DV. The output quality is very poor. What do i need to do to output a high quality sequence? Thank you

You’re welcome. re: exporting.i would recomend exporting a Same as source QT or QT reference and then compress in mpeg streamclip or similar.
