We have just switched to Macs for Avid from PCs. When we open Avid, instead of the Avid program Background behind all the bins and windows, we get the desktop background. I think this is a Mac thing, but is there anyway around it so we can have the progran BG instead of the desktop BG?

Odd, isn’t that? Must be the way the OS operates.

When Avid did the port to Windows, they made everything…the pallets, the Composer window, the timeline…all live inside one giant window. Photoshop, and most Windows apps do this. Not really the way things work on a Mac at all.

    Actually there is a way.
Someone wrote a little program called Hide Desktop that does just this.
You can even pick the background colour.
It’s in German and Free, but I can’t seem to find the website where I got it.
Happy to forward it to anyone who wants it.
