    Hey Everyone,
New to Avid (Just about to Purchase the Avid Xpress Studio). Anyway, is the Avid Software/Hardware compatiable with Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects etc in Adobe? I do video for an Athletic Department at a major College, and a few of our interns only know a little Adobe Premier, and I also enjoy using it on some things. Though I figure this will gradually change as I begin learning Avid. However, for now, I do need Premier and Avid installed on the computer. Are there any codec problems with doing this?

    Thanks!

I don’t know about Premier cause I’ve never used it (though I would bet at least $15 that it’s fine) but for sure you can have Avid and AE on the same system. Having them open at the same time could slow things down a little depending on your setup.

I have Avid (Mc 2.7) installed on the same machine as the Adobe Production Suite Premium(includes Premiere 2.0)and have not noticed any problems. I will say that since installing Avid Mc I have hardly touched PP 2.0.

We have the CS2 Production bundle (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro 2.0, AE 7, etc…) installed on a MC Adrenaline and Avid Xpress. No problems here. I just wouldn’t suggest opening Premiere and Avid at the same time–if you’re going to run into problems, that’s probably where it would be.

    Michael.
