I first installed Adobe onto my computer, and the software started working fine. But when I installed Avid on the same computer, both of them started acting a little funny here and there with not allowing me to do normal certain functions. I have four hard drives on my computer, and one external. Both of them are installed on my C drive, which is my main drive. But is there anyway I can have them both installed on my computer without either one running interference with the other?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ACTING FUNNY? CAN YOU BE A BIT MORE SPECIFIC? I HAVE PHOTOSHOP AND AFTER EFFECTS AS WELL AS AVID ON MY PC, AND NO PROBLEMS.

When you say “Adobe,” what program are you referring to? I’m assuming Premiere? If so, Premiere and Avid are not compatible on the same machine, as they interact with (and make changes to) Windows differently. You must choose which app you wish to use and then stick with that app. You can run Avid and FCP on a Mac with no problems, but on a PC, it’s a no-go.

After deciding which app you’re going to work with (again, assuming we’re talking about Premiere here), uninstall the other one and see if you’re able to work again. If not, you may have to reinstall Windows plus all your drivers and other software before you can edit again.

    Good luck.

I’m sorry, I should have been a lil more specific. I have Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 on my computer and I believe Avid Express Pro 4.6. I meant acting funny like, Adobe Pro’s burn to DVD function has been constantly making bad discs. I tried chaning everything, and they are still bad disc.

And when I’m trying to capture in Avid, it says that I can’t b/c of insufficient hard drive space. The drive has 5 Gig on it left. And just recently the audio has been playing in the source monitor, but not in the timeline monitor.

I also have Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Encore on my computer.

So there is no way to have both software’s on my computer? I won’t be able to install the software on another drive? How do I get rid of the one I don’t want, to be able to get everything back to order? Thanks.

How do you have it set up? What’s different about your computer? Or what process do you take to assure that they run accurately?
