Avid 6.5 to 5.5
Hi Herd,
I am looking at doing some work with a client who is running Avid Media Composer 5.5 on PC’s and has run out of edit suite capacity so asked if I could supply a suite and cut for them. I currently cut using FCP on a Mac Pro 2 x 3.2 Quad Core Xeon and found I can only buy Avid Media Composer 6.5 (although I’ve been told my Mac is not supported by Avid, but should work).
What are the chances of me being able to edit and send my client projects and media they can open. The show won’t be flashy, factual programming with a few titles, colour corrections and basic transitions.
Any ideas, experience and advice much appreciated,

If any issues were to arise, you should be able to right-click your sequence in v6.5 and choose “Revert Effects”, which would duplicate your sequence and strip that duplicate of any effects types that would be incompatible with earlier versions of the software.
