    avid 6.5 ok for my machine?

    I have a MACbook pro

    4G ram
    snow leopard 10.6.8
    NVidia g-force 8600

    I know these are not the specs for 6.5 but if I change for Lion will it still run properly or do I have to get Avid 5.5?

    I have Lion…and am running 6.5. SO it should work fine.

    The biggest variable is whether you mac is 64-bit capable or not.

    After that your processor speed makes a huge difference, especially if you are using AVCIntra material or long-GOP material.

    Here is how you can tell if your machine is 64-bit capable. Surprisingly enough I have found many that are not after the upgrade.
