    1. Is there a video converter out there that will take a variety of formats (mpegs, wmv, etc) and make it possible to edit in avid (using Newscutter Adrenaline 6.2)?

    And,

    2. I’ve been struggling with finding the proper way to burn dvds from my avid projects. Currently, I export as quicktime reference, then convert to mpeg-2 using sorenson squeeze, then use encore 1.0 or nero or sonic. But, it never fails that the video quality is crap, less than VHS in my opinion. I know that encore 2.0 accepts quicktime (finally) and that may be a better solution. But, please give me a better answer to this question. I can export from Premiere to dvd with broadcast quality video and I hear that Avid Xpress Pro has similar results, but why in the hell can’t my $25,000 Adrenaline give me what I’m looking for.

    thanks in advance…

    A little perturbed

    Hi Chris

I have used MPEG Streamclip 1.1 with good results from squared5.com

It’s free and a fairly small download (492K) & converts a lot of different formats

They recommend WinXP (though it runs fine for me under Win 2K)
