    Hello,

I had to convert .mov to .mov.avi to edit in Vegas 8. Done editing, so now I “replace” the .mov.avi file with .mov to get my HD back for rendering. There are 20 clips, and I can replace 17 before Vegas freezes (not responding). It doesn’t matter which clips I replace first, so I don’t think it is related to size.

    Thanks!

With Quicktime installed, you should be able to edit the ,mov files.

I’m guessing that these MOV files came from a camera that was introduced after Vegas Pro 8 was released and your expecting old software to work with a new camera? I would download the trial of Vegas Pro 10 and see if it can edit the MOV files. If it can, you have your solution. If you don’t want to upgrade, then you need to convert your MOV files to another HD format before editing and use that format for rendering.
