A client gave me a few SanDisk cards with a bunch of AVI clips he shot on his Polaroid FlipCam. I get audio & video when I play the clips in a standard media player. But in Vegas 9.0e and 10.0a they won’t even load into the timeline nor play in the Trimmer. It says for the video “Stream att. could not be determined. H264”. Same for the audio.

I ran GSpot and it says the codecs are loaded. Video: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. Audio: 0x00ff (AAC) 4800 Hz 128kb/s.

How can I get these into Vegas to edit?

    Thanks.

The problem is that Vegas isn’t expecting AVC/H.264 in an AVI container. Try installing x264vfw codec and see if that allows Vegas to read the file.

If that doesn’t work. you may need to find a program that can re-wrap them into an MP4 container which is what Vegas would be expecting.
