I have to convert my final avi to mpeg2 and upload them to brodcasters. But I have this problem with stribes or lines in the picture specially when panning. I use Adobe media export and I have tried prog. upper and lower field without any difference. I have tried to capture to my matrox axio and convert, capture in another machine with only premiere pro and convert – but always the same result !
I have tried other mpeg2 coders like TMGenc with the same result !!! Project settings in premiere is pal 16:9 and I do believe this problem has something to do with pal – since there are not many posts on this forum related to this problem. Someone here solved this problem.

Forgot to say that the file looks fine on a computerscreen but have the lines when palyed on mpeg hardware (tried interlacing in TMGenc too)

    Hi,
From the sounds of it I had a similar problem to you. Only way I could find round it was to go back to the original footage and deinterlace it when I rendered the avi. Was then able to encode to mpeg2 with Encore and it looked fine. Not sure if that option’s still open to you or if there’s another easier way to do it but that’s all I could find!

    cheers – James

Thanks for your reply. I found the intelace thing in the preencode task in adobe media export and the result is perfect.
    Thanks again.
