    Hi All,

I am a newbie to Sony Vegas Pro 8, I have recently started using a DV recorder (from a motorcycle camera). I am having problems viewing the video footage, when i tried to Edit, it comes up with Video: Stream attributes could not be determined. I can hear the audio ok. I think my recorder records in mp4, the video and audio tracks play ok in windows media player, but when i goto the dvrs location to import the footage it comes up as an AVI file, with the Stream attribute msg. Do i need to install a “codec” to make it play in Vegas 8

I am a newbie mind, and will be very gratefull for any assistance offered

Drop a file onto GSpot and tell us what it says the codec is.

Hi Mike did what you said and dropped a file into Gspot. I then installed the relevant codec and it worked. Many Thanks Craig
