    I’m fairly new to this, so please forgive my ignorance.

    I have a 5 minute video in Premiere that need to export to AVI, 640 x 480.

    I need it small enough to transmit online, but large enough to maintain video quality.

    What kind of compression should I use? What about the other settings?

    No AVI from Premiere is not going to the job nearly as well as a .wmv…Windows Media Video. Use 2 pass VBR, maximum bitrate about 3 mbps, target bitrate of 2 mbps.
