Hey all…not sure what forum this should be posted in, but, figured many of you may use a DVW-A500 dbeta in your work. what I’m trying to determine is where is my deck in it’s lifespan based on the number of hours…it need a new circuit board which could run the repair in the 3k to 6k range and i am weighing my options…

so, how do these numbers compare to yours!?

    New>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mid- life>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>dead?

    Sony-DVW-A500
    H01 OPE HOURS = 26,315
    H02 DRUM HOURS = 1,823
    H03 THREAD COUNT = 6,995

    thanks!

spend the 6 grand. You will never buy another Digi Beta VTR ever again. Run this one until it’s dead.

I’ve run ours ten of thousands of hours. All of them are over ten years old and still going strong. Yours is still just a pup!
