Avchd to Youtube
Im Not sure if this is the right place for this question. but im trying to upload some videos to youtube, they were recorded with a canon digital camera in the avchd format 1440×1080 30fps 6.7k bitrate. the files are about 30 minutes long and im trying to get them uploaded to youtube at a reasonable file size, i only need 480p youtube quality at most. was wondering if anyone can recommend an import / sequence export path that i should take, or if i need to use a outside video converter. i currently have adobe premiere pro 5.5 and am very new to digital video. i would like the videos to be about 100mb at most or somewhere in that range.

When exporting out of APP, you have many presets to choose from, including one called YouTube.

I’m not sure why you would want this? Is that so it takes less time to upload? Youtube will recompress everything, the Adobe Media Encoder/Premiere Pro preset for youtube makes a larger file, that is in essence, better for the transcode.

Sure. your compression rate should total about 460 kb/s (including audio) to get a file that size. At SD, that could be anemic to get 100mbs.Best,
