AVCHD or HDV to supplement DVCProHD content in FCP?
Can FCP v.6.0.3 edit AVCHD shot on a canon HD Flash memory Camera like this?

Not all AVCHD is created equal. It seems some of it works and some doesn’t.
Also, avchd gets transcoded to ProRes. That’s something that won’t get played back very easily at all on your g4 powerbook.
In the Help menu of FCP, check out the “HD and Broadcast formats” article. There’s a section on AVCHD. I have never worked with avchd, I am just basing this info on posts here at the cow.
I do know that HD Prores won’t work on your g4.
