Just a heads up for FCP users who are thinking of using AVCHD footage from like a Panasonic HMC-150 along with other formats such as DV-CAM footage, you will not be able to do Multi-Cam editing. You have to down-convert your AVCHD footage which is brought in as PRO RES, to an NTSC DV format and it doesn’t look that good when you down-convert.

So much for being able to edit all formats in FCP’s Pro Res.

Well, when it comes to MULTICAM editing, FCP has ALWAYS required that all the camera angles be the same format. This is one of the basics of multiclipping. You can mix and match formats in FCP fine, but when it comes to multiclipping them, they need to be the SAME codec, frame rate, frame size, everything.
