    My copy of Premiere pro does not have the ability to work with AVCHD footage, I cannot seem to find a plug-in i can download to fix this. any suggestions?

    here is a screen cap from my pre-sets options. (or at least an attempt at it)

    I’m sure it’s fairly obvious but I’m extremely new to working with premiere and creative cow, so I apologize for anything obvious I am missing

    Once thing you can try is

    in the project panel, simply drag an imported clip to the new items Icon at the bottom of the panel (looks like page icon)

    this will make a sequence that matches the attributes of the source media.

    Are you using a trial version of Premiere Pro CS5? The trial version of Premiere Pro didn’t include the codecs for AVCHD media. (That limitation is gone for CS5.5.)
