So I got a new camera, Panasonic AG-HMC40. First event I go to, everything goes peachy, as far as the filming parts is concerned.

Today I go to import my clips into Final Cut Pro 6 using Log and Transfer method. Everything goes peachy, imported about 2 hours of 720p60 footage, almost. One clip that is 21 minutes long, only 9 minutes import of it. I tried using MPEG Streamclip (didnt work), iMovie 09 (errored out), I am running out of options!

The funny thing is that I can watch the whole video in the Log and Transfer screen, then when I go to import, only the first nine minutes do. I tried setting IN and OUT points at different times in the video, to no avail.

Please help me! I really need to get this clip off my camera.

    Thanks

I’ve never had that problem using my HMC-150. You might want to download AVCCAM Restorer ateww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/ and see if that helps repair a corrupted clip which you may have on that card. Usually though if you have corrupted clip the camera recognizes it and starts the repair clip dialog itself. But you should try it. There is a Panasonic HMC-150 / HMC-40 forum you might also want to search there especially since it’s obvious your problem isn’t confined to FCP. Hope you get it fixed

I solved the problem. Thanks for the advice Don.

What I did was find the dropped frame. I watched the footage and there was a problem with around 240 frames of footage (4 seconds). I placed in points after the event, and the video imported just fine.
