    Hi everyone

If anyone has worked with AVCHD footage from the Canon C100, on a slower PC, will know it’s really difficult to edit with.
If I were to use a converter, before I am ready to import it in to the edit – what codec should I convert the avchd stuff to?
If I converted it to a proxy prores 422, or mpeg2, would I be losing video quality? Please note, I will be colour grading this footage.

I’d really appreciate some help, as I am more of a shooter rather than an editor!

    Kind Regards

    D

If you are on a Mac use prores proxies.
Export is done with the original files, so no loss.

If you download the latest version of Adobe Media Encoder, you can make Prores on a Windows machine as well.
