I have a canon camcorder hf r306 which when you want to record in full HD 1920-1080 the file then turns into an AVCHD which is not capable with the mac.

So I convert it with the trial version of ClipWrap 2 which works great, but the problem I’m having is when I want to edit using APP and others like Imovie and FCP it seems to be very laggy and is very frustrating to get perfect editing done.

And what I don’t understand is when I use my Nikon D7000 which I also record in FULL HD works perfectly fine in MP4 with no lag what’s so ever. Any Idea on what the problem might be?
    Thank you.

    Here’s a guess…

Quicktime is a 32bit media container.

By wrapping your AVCHD in a QT it actually makes AP work harder.

Have you tried the AVCHD natively in PPro, ot clip wrapped?

Can you just use PPro Media Browser widow to navigate to the raw media folder?

is this in a folder structure from a camera card/drive?

Yes, the AVCHD files are located in the camera drive.
