April 3, 2008 at 9:17 amhi Jeremy, chris beasley here I’m a new user and very inexperienced so i guess my issues could be compounded by that but here goes:
AVCHD on a 4gb SD card
Shot on a Panasonic SD-5Macbook pro 2.5 with OS X.5 and FCP 6.0.2 – also, no perian, no fxfactory. I did downloads from Panasonic but not sure which i need… i assume i did it correctly coz:
I see ‘P2 avc and avchd pluggin’ reflecting in my Log&Transfer prefs window – I’ve tried 422 as well as apple inter.
I can ‘see’ the clips and even view them entirely in my Log&Transfer ‘viewer’ window on the right.
I say ‘Add to Queue’ or I drag them down to add them and they begin transfer … Then they stop. they appear in my browser but I only get the first 16 frames and not clear either.
Back in the log and trnsfr window the little circle to the left of each transfered clip shows ‘half’…please help…

April 3, 2008 at 12:53 pmDid you mark ins and outs in the log and transfer window? Try clearing the ins and outs and reimport.

April 3, 2008 at 5:08 pmHiya , thanx for the reply – I tried without ins and outs marked and also with them marked. Neither worked – why would i be able to see and review but not actually trnsfr….? and whats with the 16 frames i get no matter how long a given clip is –
Oh – if i use ins and outs i get less than 16 frames…cb

April 3, 2008 at 7:59 pmHave you UNchecked the Remove pulldown/dupe frames option in the L&T prefs?

No, just FCP 6.0.2.
I don’t know what to tell you. It should work and like I said before I have only done it twice.
The simple fact that you are able to import (even though it’s only for 16 frames) tells me that something is not configured right, or you are doing something weird which I can’t see (no offense). Try trashing your prefs and start over.

April 4, 2008 at 7:10 pmThanks for your effort, I’ll keep trying.
If I want to trash all prfrnces an start over how would YOU do that ?
How would i throw out all avchd pluggins etc and reinstall those too?
And , are those settings in ‘easy setup’ and ‘audio and video’ settings in the “File” dropdown relevant when I’m using the Log&Transfer function or are the only ones that matter those that i see in the L&T prefs ?
thanx again

Quit FCP. Go to your UserFolder > Library > Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
then go to UserFolder > Library > Preferences > Final Cut Pro User Data and delete
Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs.fcset
Final Cut Pro Obj Cache.fcmch
Final Cut Pro Prof Cache.fcpchOr download this handy app and click one button to get it done:

No. That’s for Hardware or firewire based capture only.
