  AVCHD Editing and Premiere CS5.5

  Hello All,

  I just made the switch from FCP to Premiere CS5.5 because of its native handling of AVCHD. I’m trying figure out the best workflow for this format given that its already a highly compressed format.

  In FCP if I were to edit a native format such as HDV in a timeline I could set the timeline to create ProRes renders of any footage that has color correction or heavy graphics work applied to it.. thus getting me out the highly compressed HDV codex and creating renders a in format that can better handle the color corrections and graphic work..

  Is there a way to set the timeline in Premiere CS5.5 so that i can edit natively in AVCHD (to save time on transcoding) but allow the renders to be in a better codex to handle any color correction work… and if so what format is recommended.
