I’ve been using FCP for the last few years and now i’m trying to switch over to Premiere.

When I imported AVCHD in FCP i’d select my in and out points, name the clip then create a MOV inside FCP.

Opening up Premiere for the first time I notice it plays the AVCHD files directly in the media browser and you are able to select your in and out points and put your clip into the sequence without converting to MOV.

Just wondering how most people handle this. Do you convert it with another program? Do you edit directly off the AVCHD files? If so how do you keep it organized.

I also wouldn’t mind a good article or tutorial on switching from FCP to Premiere. (I actually started on Premiere many years ago before I switched to HD)

    Cheers!
