    Folks,

I’m playing around with the Vegas v6 HD features and noticed that an AVC/H.264 encoded video file I created from HDV content from within Vegas can be dropped directly into the timeline.

If I try the same thing with a sampe AVC/H.264 content downloaded from http://www.quicktime.com (yes I know it is copyrighted, but I’m just playing) Vegas recognizes the audio stream of the .mov file but not the (AVC/H.264) video stream (hence if I drag and drop the media only the audio stream appears on the timeline).

Any ideas on the differences from the AVC/H.264 (Main Concept) encoded video file create in Vegas and the QuickTime H.264 content that would account for this Vegas behavior?

    Thanks!

Here are some additional details regarding the QuickTime formatted (H.264/AVC encoded media) file :

The “Movie Info” provided by the QuickTime 7.0 Player for the QuickTime formatted media in question is:

Format: AAC, Stereo (LR), 44.100 kHZ, H.264, 1264×720, Millions
    Movie FPS: 24.57

In Explorer tab within Vegas it correctly indicates the audio tack properties, but the Video states “stream attibutes could not be determined”.

Here’s a URL to the file. Click on the 720p button to download the clip, should anyone care to look at this directly.

    https://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/bbc-andes.html

Again, I know the material is copyrighted. I’m just trying to understand the “in’s and out’s” of working with HD media (in this case QuickTime file formats) in Vegas v6. I’m never done much with QuickTime before.

    Thanks!
