  • AVC settings for SD video to Blu-Ray?

I have been trying to create an SD blu-ray disk with a lot of video; 20-25 hours worth. It seems that using the AVC codec would provide a bit better compression than mpg, so I am trying to do that. The DVD architect help file provides some settings for NTSC SD on Blu-ray, which I have tried to utilize in Vegas 8.0b, but I cannot get it to work.

Every attempt to load the AVC file results in either a crash on DVD Architect, or an “unsupported format” message.

My Render As AVC settings use the Sony AVC codec, video:AVC,NTSC(720×480),main,CABAC,29.970,Lower field first,0.9091 pixel, 2mbit rate, video elementary stream (.avc)

Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

P.S. attempts to export to an MP4 always seem to work, but require recompressing in DVD Architect…
