    Hi Blackmagic Guys.

I have noticed, as I’m sure most have, it seems the overhead to output using the BM cards (we have both Extreme’s & intensity’s) in Premiere CS4 has increased.

A machine, once capable of easily cutting DVCproHD, HDV, and even uncompredded HD off the raid, has been hobbled by CS4 and the BM output drivers.

So here are my questions. Is it likeley that future BM updates will increase the performance of a machine, through programming enhancements? (I know everybody struggled with CS4’s new architecture).

As the BM cards use our machines CPU’s, to do what it does, do we need more processor grunt?

We are looking to turn the production pipeline of our small studio to AVC-INTA native, and archive. What would be the minimum spec to get a BM, CS4 workflow over the line in terms of CPU?

Thanks, I know it’s a “how long is a piece of sting question, but I need a ballpark.”

    Cheers

    Brett
