Also, isn’t the plugin component from panasonic Intel only? Bummed out my poor ol dual proc g5…

Its more fun to ride a slow motorcycle fast than a fast motorcycle slow…

Yes it appears to be Intel only.

    Hi –
I just read your advice about downloading the AVC Intra codec from Panasonic. I have done so, but am still having no luck logging and tranferring the p2 files into FCP. I think this is b/c I am running FCP6.0.4 and the download is for 6.0.3 Thoughts? Thanks so much!

    Hi Julia,

I share your predicament. I’m unable to transfer footage from the “log and transfer” window onto the “browser” window.

Footage was shot using P2 cards on a Panasonic HVX200.

Have you found a solution? Please let me know as I’m stuck with my project.

What’s strange though is that I’m able to transfer some takes, but others I’m unable to. I can view them, but they won’t transfer over.

Hope to hear from you soon!
    Thanks!
    Cal

I downloaded this codec, but it only gives me the option to transfer AVC-Intra to ProRes — not ProRes HQ. Am I missing something?
Can I change my sequence settings to ProRes HQ and render it — FCP gives me a green bar when I change the settings from ProRes to ProRes HQ.
    Thank you.

I see… I thought I was using the AVCHD codec in the log and transfer preferences. When I should have set the P2 preference to ProRes HQ, right? Can i render to HQ in my timeline or do I have to recapture?

AVC_Intra support has been added to Final Cut Pro 7.

I’ve downloaded the plug-in on a macBook Pro, and put it into the FC Express plug-ins folder in system application support.FCE,plugins, but it doesn’t show up as an option on the Log and Transfer preferences options.
Will this plug in work with express?
    Thanks

I just shot a lot of footage on the new panasonic 3100 and I’m having trouble importing them into FCP 6.0.6, even after downloading the AVC-Intra codec listed above. I still get the message “CBE P2 001” AVC-Intra codec not found.

When I downloaded the P2PCCard Install.pkg, did it automatically load the other files in the Leopard file as well (AJ-PCS060-P2Drive-P2Formatter) or do I have to download those manually?

Do I have to find the AVC-Intra codec I downloaded and apply it in some other file?

Do I have the Audio/Video Settings set up properly for FCP 6.0.6?
    -Sequence Preset: Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1920×1080 60i 48kHz
-Capture Preset: HDV-Apple ProRes 422 (HQ)
    -Device Control Preset: Non-Controllable Device
-Video Playback: Digital Cinema Desktop Preview-Main
-Audio Playback: Built in Line Output
