AVC-I users that are interested in delivering/editing DPX.
WIth a free update from Panasonic, you can now export DPX files of your AVC-I material out of P2CMS for a Mac.

It’s P2CMS version 1.3 and then in that download area, you will see a plug in that will convert AVC-I to DPX.

Then when you finally get to the download page, you will see a separate download for the DPX plug in.

what is DPX? And what does the plug in let you do exactly?

Apparently the plug in is for FCP 6.0.2 or 6.0.3, what if you are running final cut 5.1.4.

Time to upgrade? You can’t use AVC-I in any shape or form with FCP 5. If you use Log and transfer, avc-i footage gets transcoded to ProRes or HQ which is not possible in FCP5.
