  • AV settings for a final exported @ 854×480, 48khz, 30p please any help

    Hi,
i’ve been having some trouble getting a small test project correctly exported, but it’s small enough, and initial enough to start from scratch..
i need to begin , however, with the correct av settings…
i want a project with at least a resolution of 854×480 (any TRUE 16:9 res above that is fine too) , 30 fps, 48khz, and NOT anamorphic..
i also want to export in the same res, with the same specs, and again, not anamorphic..

my actual photographed (as aposed to rendered effects, jpgs, etc other layers) will be anamorphic (shot @ 30p on a GL2) and i hope it will correctly transfer over?

so basically, when starting my new project, what A/v settings should I use for the right conditions in the workspace, and the correct dimensions when exporting…
also if i need to set anything to have the anamorphic footage correctly transfer into the non-anamorphic project, what is it that i have to set..

sorry if my thoughts are badly organized, again i’ll try to make it point form,

new project, what av settings for
    at least 854×480, or above
    30fps, progressive
    not interlaced
    not anamorphic
    48khz

footage will be shot in anamorphic on a GL2

thanks so much for any help, i’m really dying of stress over this,

[DerekKent] “i want a project with at least a resolution of 854×480 (any TRUE 16:9 res above that is fine too) , 30 fps, 48khz, and NOT anamorphic”
[DerekKent] “footage will be shot in anamorphic on a GL2”

If you dont want the project to be anamorphic, why are you shooting anamorphic?
I suggest you read appendix C of the FCP manual to get a better undertanding of anamorphic video.

i’m shooting anamorphic because it’s the only widescreen format that the GL2 shoots in, i mentioned im shooting with a GL2

All widescreen formats in Standard def are anamorphic. SD in NTSC can only be either 720X480 for DV or DVD, or 720X486 for uncompressed.
