A/V Remote Port for Sony NX30U
Has anyone found a remote zoom that works with the A/V port on the Sony NX30U? I have a VariZoom Rock that I loved with previous cameras but I’ve read reviews that it’s not compatible with the new A/V protocol on the NX30. I know there’s an adapter cable but even the tech guy at VariZoom said their adapter cable doesn’t cut it. The NX30U zoom is in the wrong spot for me and the little tiny buttons don’t work for my larger hands. Has anyone actually used something that they’ve actually hands-on tested with the NX30U?

I’ve seen several recommendations for a Vivitar LANC controller for under $30 (Amazon, other vendors). It does include the adapter cable for the Sony D-shaped adapter port. Is said to work well, other than the button clicks can be a bit loud. Depending on what you’re shooting, the clicks may or may not be any issue. Been meaning to order one myself to give it a try!
