FCP 4.5, G5 dual 2.5, OSX 10.3.9, 4gigs of Ram, Apple Xserve Raid 3.5T, AJA LD,

After digitizing some footage today. I noticed in the Raid & in the folder containing the QuickTime file, there were two more files with the same name but with the extension (example) Car Chase-av & Car Chase-av-1 & Car Chase-av-2.

Trashed Prefs & switched to the other half of the Raid.
    Still happens.

Anyone else come across this problem?

    Thanks

    Steve,
Was this on a Capture Now? Is the RAID properly initialized for the Mac OS?

Might need to turn off the file limiting size in the Scratch disk settings. If it’s set to limit file size, longer captures will create these files.

If you initialized with Mac OS extended, then your scratch disk prefs are probably doing this by limiting file sizes to 2 GB. As Jerry says, from now on work with that pref box unchecked.

BTW, it’s far better to log and capture rather than capture now. My opinion, anyway.
