Please explain why when accessing a project file in FCP autosave vault, it is necessary to reconnect media and re-render. Is there a work around?

Also– besides changing the viewer size, trashing prefs, keeping audio playback at low, how else could we troubleshoot the problem of an editor playing back a sequence and having FCP continually crash? She is working with tif images, and has noted that when the payhead crosses the tif files, this is when FCP typically crashes. Would it be best for her to work with a smaller image size?

    Thanks for any help.

[celeste] ” why when accessing a project file in FCP autosave vault, it is necessary to reconnect media and re-render.”

I have never had to do this.
    What version of FCP?
    What Mac System?
