  autosave does not work

  I have this problem…
  My autosave does not work!
  If I want to open an autosave file, in order to go back to an earlier version, the computer only tells me “! general error” and doesn’t open the desired project.
  Anyone out there any suggestions on how to ‘reactivate’ my autosave?
