Automating in and out points
I need to add a narration track on a new layer and reduce the volume of the music on another track wherever I place the narration. I don’t want to put any cuts in the music track audio. Normally what I do is to use the pen tool and reduce the levels inside the audio layer. The attached image highlights this.
Now is there a way to automate this? I would like to just use in and out points and then if I can click a button to run a macro which automatically dips the level by -5 with a slope that will be awesome.

You need to do something called ‘side-chaining”. Here are a few tutorials using Audition (I’m not sure if PPro supports side-chaining) – https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=adobe+audition+side-chaining
