Automatically remove particular plug-in?

I’m currently exporting my XML to make it run.
Failing which I’ll try the DR option, which I have.

The Editmule app is doing something slightly different. It is removing filters from your project, which is not the same as actually removing the plugin files from your hard disk.

It is also removing ALL of them, it is not automatically detecting which ones are causing problems.

(P.S. Just for the record, FCS Maintenance Pack can automatically detect unstable plugins, but only if they are causing FCP to crash at startup. It will not detect them if they are causing random crashes in the middle of working.)

If you can export to XML, it should be very easy to do.
Just do a search / replace with a text editor and disable the effect

search for
True

Thanks all for the replies.

Edit Mule worked great for removing all instances of the offending plugin-in on my timeline, but only after I broke my project up into smaller pieces [it seemed to be too large and Edit Mule wasn’t able to complete its operation on the full sized project].

Years ago I had a similar problem and just manually uninstalled the plug in (moved it out of the plugins folder)

Then toggled visibility on the timeline (actually a duplicate), causing everything to unrender…
