automatically creating master clips (but i don’t wanna)

It did it before…only now it is taking a tad longer, so a message has time to come up. But that is what you are doing…making new master clips. When you drag anything into the browser, it is making master clips.

Only now, it is telling you so.

David, not really. It is mostly organized when i bring the folders into FCP, but a few shots here and there that needing finer organizing as i breeze over the footage (beauty shots, slo mo, etc.)

No. I don’t know why it is telling you that now. I see it sometimes, and not other times. Large project? Might cause a slow down.

Well, one way I become a smart editor is trolling the forums looking for issues that pop up. And then see how people solve them, so when I run into the issue, I know how to fix it. Constantly learning.

Where do I find the time? Rendering, awaiting notes…lunch. Plus I type fast.

Okay, you’re off the hook this time Tad. Thankfully you’re not breaking things down on the timeline, which is something that is really a pet peeve of mine, as there is no better way to turn a non-linear editor into a linear editor. It’s surprising just how many people do spend their money on all kinds of sophisticated non-linear hardware and software, only to operate their systems in a completely linear fashion.
