automatically connect editted section to end of last clip

Try this:

1. Place footage on track 1
2. Create 2 razor points for cutting (ex: point # 1 @ 2 mins and point # 2 @ 5 minutes).
3. Right click on the portion you would like to delete and select ‘Ripple Delete’
4. Move the parts to the desired tracks, as required.

In the upper left hand corner of the Premiere 2.0 timeline window there is a small “magnet” icon. That enables “snap-to” If I’m understanding your question correctly.
