  • Automatically adding markers to an FCP timeline

    Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to automatically add markers to an FCP timeline? Quite often we have to put about 50 short clips to tape and it would be really handy to be able to put markers in say every 30 secs so you you could just snap clips to timecodes quicky. There may even be easier ways to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

If this is a regular job at your shop, I would build a “template” timeline with slugs or video clips every 30 seconds like you say. Then just use the Replace function to replace those slugs with actual video.

We build template timelines and projects all the time so the basic functions of most jobs are pre-built.
